Episode 06

This past week, I continued working on my robotic arm project and had some of the mentor calls I’d scheduled through my outreach. After spending the past few weeks reading about assistive robotics, it was really interesting to actually talk with professionals in the field. I was able to discuss some of my ideas and ask questions; I think having these conversations alongside my research will help me figure out what exactly I want to pursue. On the building side, I’m continuing to work on the arm. Having something physical to work on makes the project feel more concrete, but I’m still figuring out the specific problem I hope to address with it. There are a lot of interesting directions I could take, and I think the challenge now is finding something that would be useful, but also realistic for me to build and test. Hopefully, as I continue working on the project and talking with mentors, that direction will become clearer. Overall, I’m happy that some of the outreach from the past few weeks has turned into actual conversations, and I’m looking forward to seeing how those conversations shape the project. Finally, keeping up with the Giants' season, the win on Sunday wasn't clean, but it was a fun game to watch. I'll enjoy looking at the NFC East rankings while it lasts.
