This past week marked the first full week back into school, and already through ISM, I feel like I’ve made progress on my professional development. Starting the week off, I took care of general housekeeping items I put off during the summer: I updated my LinkedIn and redid parts of my resume to better reflect my experience. Following that, I began to go more into depth about what exactly I want to do through ISM. I’m pretty confident that I want to do something in robotics, and through research conducted in-class, I think assistive robotics is something that I want to look further into. Ending off the week, I finally built something I’ve been meaning to do for a while: build a website. Even though I don’t plan to go into software, I still think it’s an extremely important skill to have, so I treated this website as a way to hone my skills. After research, I knew that the website architecture should be static, but easily updateable; so I chose to build it in Astro and used the integrated CMS to easily add things, like this blog. I’m pretty happy with how the backend is turning out, however, I plan to update and improve the UI in the coming weeks. Overall, I’m pretty happy with how this week turned out, and I’m looking forward to the next.
